What a special day this is - and why you ask? - because it is the one we are living now! It is Sunday, so it must be time for the Sketch Challenge from OWH.
Here is the sketch:
And here is my card:
It is not my most favorite card, and I admit that it seemed that every time I turned around something was just not right with the card or an element had disappeared altogether! (The sentiment got attached to my Score Pal which I had put down by my chair - who would think to look for it stuck to the back of my Score Pal? I finally found it after 5 minutes of hunting for it when I went to get something out of a drawer it was leaning against!) My DH Chuck always says each time I can't find something that Martha Stewart must have taken it! She gets accused a lot in this house!
The DP is K & Company and the leaves and flowers I cut from the same paper. The card base is pink, the belly band is Burgundy; and the sentiment is green cardstock made from the Beaded Oval Spellbinder die. The gold beads are from my stash.
Blessings to you all,
I think it's pretty, Louise! I love the color palette especially. Thanks for playing along with the OWH Stars & Stamps Sunday Sketch challenge!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Louise! I love how you punched the short edges only on the strip... thanks for the idea. I am so glad you're back and posting again. I love seeing your work.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card! I love that green frame, it looks so elegant.
ReplyDeleteYou asked about the small flowers on my HB card made with the squares.... it is a punch, EK Success (those thumb punches) small Retro flower. It get's used a lot around here! Glad you liked the card. Blessings are nice people like you in the world.
LOL your sentiment stuck to the Scor Pal sounds so much like me. I am amazed at all the stuff put down right next to me and then can't find! Love that die and the flower and leaf element beside it.
ReplyDeleteI can identify with your lost sentiment! I often find them inside cardstock packets, or like you - stuck to the back of the Scor-Pal or paper cutter. Mine never fall on the floor - they find more creative hiding places LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat card, I love the punched borders and pretty DP!
Louise, I LOL'd at your DH's "Martha Stewart" line! Your card is so pretty; I love the punched edges of the belly band, too. Thanks for your nice comment at my blog, too; matching papers is still a degree of hit-or-miss for me!
ReplyDeleteI love your color combination on this card, it's so soft and pretty. And I think we all can say 'been there done that' when it comes to losing pieces while trying to put our mastepieces together. thanks for commenting on my card -- I've only had that open scallop die a few days but I'm loving it already! I think I mentioned that it's from My Favorite Things - they have quite a few of them
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying the colors you've used. I also like your story about Martha Stewart taking your crafts. Anytime somethings missing in my craft space we all blame my 23mth old.
